Ethiopia is preparing to withdraw more than 3,000 troops from Somalia and redeploy them to Tigray, Amhara and Afar as fighting intensifies at home.

Bloomberg reports that the withdrawal could begin within days or weeks, with troops expected to leave positions in Somalia’s Bay and Bakool regions.
The move comes as Ethiopian forces face renewed fighting across several northern regions.
Neither Ethiopia nor Somalia has formally announced the withdrawal.
