NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says Vladimir Putin is failing both on the battlefield and in his attempt to intimidate the alliance.

“I hope Putin gets the message,” Rutte said, arguing that the cost of the war is being felt across Russia, not only in Ukraine.
He said tens of thousands of young Russians are being sent to their deaths each month “for nothing,” while Moscow continues to suffer heavy battlefield losses.
“He is failing on the battlefield and he is failing to intimidate us,” Rutte said.
