The U.S. Treasury has sanctioned Russian payments network A7, accusing it of helping Russia, Iran and other sanctioned entities move money outside Western financial restrictions.

According to The New York Times, A7 used more than 70 shell companies, cryptocurrency and AI-generated trade records to disguise transactions and arrange purchases, including components with potential military and drone applications.
Washington also expanded sanctions on Iran’s automotive, rail and metals sectors, targeting major companies including Iran Khodro, SAIPA and several railway operators.
