DR Congo’s Ebola death toll surpasses 4,000, making the outbreak the deadliest in the country’s history

Government figures show 4,018 deaths and around 8,300 confirmed cases across seven provinces, while more than 2,000 patients have recovered.
The outbreak is caused by the Bundibugyo virus and has continued to spread despite efforts to contain transmission.
