U.S. conducts underground non-nuclear explosive test in Nevada to improve detection of low-yield nuclear blasts

Eastora News·

Reuters, reporting the development, said the experiment at the Nevada National Security Site focused on detecting “decoupled” explosions, which can be harder to identify through seismic monitoring.

Washington has accused China of conducting such a test in 2020, an allegation Beijing denies.

Data from the experiment will be used to improve scientific models and nuclear explosion detection algorithms.
