U.S. Energy Department engineer arrested over alleged support for Iran-backed Houthis, including explosives materials and drone parts

Prosecutors say Ashton Hamed Ellaboudy, 51, purchased chemicals used in homemade explosives and drone components, traveled to Yemen and advised on communications equipment.
The FBI says he was smuggled into Yemen and hoped to establish government-level contacts with the Houthis.
Ellaboudy is charged with providing material support to a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization.
