CNN: Deleted accounts linked to Flydubai suspect contained footage of Israeli aircraft and images of al-Qaeda figures

Eastora News·

CNN reported that deleted social-media accounts linked to Hamam al-Hammami contained cockpit footage zooming in on Israeli El Al and Arkia aircraft, as well as images of former al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri and 2009 suicide bomber Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi.

Al-Hammami had previously been removed from flight training at Oman Air over concerns about extremist views and reassigned to another position.

Royal Air Maroc said he later completed three months of pre-employment training in 2025 but was not hired.

CNN also reviewed nearly 3,000 deleted tweets in which he opposed mixed-gender workplaces and said a future wife should wear a niqab and stop working after marriage.

Authorities are investigating how he was later cleared to fly for Flydubai and assigned to flights to Israel.
