UAE prosecutor general: Omani Flydubai co-pilot attacked captain with cockpit axe during attempt to take control of Israel-bound flight

The UAE prosecutor general said the co-pilot aboard Flydubai Flight 1073 attacked the captain with a cockpit crash axe while attempting to take control of the aircraft.

Two reserve pilots then took control of the plane and landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.

UAE authorities said the investigation remains ongoing to determine the full circumstances and motive behind the incident.
