FBI says Tren de Aragua leader captured in Venezuela and extradited to U.S. was first cyber fugitive on Ten Most Wanted list
U.S.
The FBI said Anibal Alexander Canelon Aguirre, also known as “Prometheus” and “The Engineer,” was captured in Venezuela last month and extradited to the United States.
Aguirre pleaded not guilty in Nebraska to four federal conspiracy charges tied to a multimillion-dollar ATM “jackpotting” scheme.
Prosecutors say proceeds from the operation helped fund Tren de Aragua activities.
He will remain in custody pending trial.
