Germany’s Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is building a 150-sensor drone detection network along its Baltic coast to protect key infrastructure

Eastora News·

Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that the network will use around 150 passive radio sensors to track drones in real time.

The system will focus on ports, energy infrastructure and military sites, including areas around the Lubmin nuclear storage facility, the Sassnitz LNG terminal and the Baltic 1 offshore wind farm.

Authorities expect the network to detect around 90% of drones, with real-time data available by spring.

The sensors will be used only for detection and will not actively disable drones.
