U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright says Trump acted on Iran rather than “kicking the can down the road” to his successor

Energy Secretary Chris Wright said President Donald Trump’s decisions on Iran were not driven by short-term political considerations.
He argued that if Trump had chosen the politically easier path, he could have delayed the issue and left a potentially nuclear-armed Iran for the next president to confront.
Wright said the administration instead chose to act now despite the short-term disruptions that decision has caused.
