U.S. warns Ethiopia-Eritrea tensions could trigger another regional conflict and humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa

Eastora News·

The U.S. State Department urged Ethiopia and Eritrea to exercise “maximum restraint” as tensions between the two countries continue to rise.

Washington called on both sides to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring states and return to dialogue under the framework of their 2018 peace agreement.

U.S. officials warned that further escalation could widen the conflict and deepen humanitarian instability across the Horn of Africa.
