Reuters: Flydubai co-pilot planned attack before joining airline, Israeli officials say

Eastora News·

The co-pilot accused of trying to seize control of Flydubai Flight 1073 had been planning an attack before he was hired by the airline, according to two Israeli officials cited by Reuters.

The officials said Hammam al-Hammami, an Omani national, had specifically sought work with airlines operating flights to Israel.

Israeli and Emirati sources say he later attacked the captain of Flight 1073 and attempted to take control of the aircraft while it was flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

The investigation into his motive and whether anyone else was involved remains ongoing.
