Trump approves execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan by U.S. Army firing squad

Eastora News·

President Donald Trump has approved the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan by U.S. Army firing squad following a recommendation from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Hasan was sentenced to death by a military jury in 2013 for killing 13 people — 12 service members and one civilian — and wounding 32 others in the 2009 shooting at Fort Hood, Texas.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the Secretary of the Army will determine the time and location of the execution.

Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack, according to witness testimony and court records.
