Trump plans executive actions to lower diesel prices as fuel costs pressure farmers ahead of November midterms
U.S.
President Donald Trump plans to announce executive actions on Monday aimed at reducing diesel costs, POLITICO reported.
The measures are expected to expand access to tax-exempt red-dyed diesel used in farming, construction and other off-road industries, while encouraging states to waive certain fuel taxes.
The administration also plans to ease enforcement of restrictions on dyed diesel and order a Treasury Department review of federal diesel taxes.
Trump is expected to announce the measures during a campaign stop in Nebraska.
