Pakistan confirms troops are deployed in Saudi Arabia across multiple roles under longstanding bilateral arrangements and the Makkah defense pact

Eastora News·

Pakistan’s military spokesman Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistani forces are serving in Saudi Arabia in “multiple capabilities and domains,” citing both longstanding bilateral agreements and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

His remarks followed an Oct. 5 meeting in Riyadh where Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye agreed to move ahead with rapid deployment of agreed forces and military capabilities under the pact.

Reuters previously reported that Pakistan had deployed about 8,000 troops, a fighter squadron and an air-defense system to Saudi Arabia, though Islamabad later disputed separate reporting about larger deployment figures.
