U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Greek newspaper Kathimerini that a conflict between Greece and Türkiye would be “unthinkable,” saying Washington “could never allow” such a scenario to occur.
Rubio said the two countries are NATO allies and that a conflict would benefit neither Greece nor Türkiye nor the United States. He said he does not believe such a confrontation will happen and stressed that sensitive disputes are often best handled through direct, private diplomacy.
