Trump says his Los Angeles and San Diego bombing remarks were meant to justify higher gas prices to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran
President Donald Trump said Thursday that his remarks about the possibility of Los Angeles and San Diego being bombed were intended as a comparison between temporarily higher gasoline prices and the potential consequences of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon.
“All I was doing was making a comparison between paying a little more, for a short time, for gasoline, versus the bombing of our major cities,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump accused news outlets of misrepresenting his remarks as an invitation for an enemy to attack the two California cities, insisting that his point was that a temporary increase in fuel prices was “a small price to pay” to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
