Britain’s nearly 200-year-old consulate in East Jerusalem will continue operating as the “UK Mission, Jerusalem” after a compromise with Israel over an order to close the facility.
Twenty British diplomats, including the consul general, will leave, while seven staff members remain. London says some withdrawals are temporary and plans to rebuild its presence, while holding off on reciprocal measures for now.
