EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Saturday that suspending sanctions on Russian diesel would give Moscow more revenue to wage war, and declared that Europe would not ease pressure on Russia. Her remarks followed a U.S.-Russia agreement on diesel supplies.
Kallas also said EU foreign ministers intend to approve on Monday, October 12, the biggest set of sanctions listings targeting Russia’s war machine since the war began.
EU ambassadors approved nearly 1,600 proposed listings on October 7, targeting Russia’s military-industrial complex. Foreign ministers are expected to give them formal approval at their meeting in Luxembourg.
