Ukrainian official says Witkoff and Kushner threatened to cut intelligence sharing over refinery strikes; U.S. official denies it

Eastora News·

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner warned Ukraine’s negotiating team that Washington could stop sharing intelligence if Kyiv continued striking Russian oil refineries, a Ukrainian official told Axios. The official said the warning came despite repeated requests from President Donald Trump for Ukraine to halt the attacks.

A U.S. official denied that any threat was made. The official said the envoys instead stressed that Washington provides Ukraine with intelligence and munitions, and that Kyiv should avoid actions that hurt American consumers.

The exchange took place during talks in Miami between U.S. envoys and Ukrainian negotiators. Axios reported that the U.S. official linked Washington’s pressure to the effect of refinery strikes on American consumers.
