‘Complicity in the horrors in Gaza’: US Sen. Chris Van Hollen says Biden administration failed to draw clear lines as Israel went beyond targeting Hamas

Eastora News·

U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen said Israel had the right to respond to Hamas, but argued that its actions in Gaza went beyond targeting the group and amounted to collective punishment of Palestinians there.

He said the United States had failed to respond to the horrors in Gaza in a way that upheld U.S. laws and values. Van Hollen described the Biden administration as “essentially AWOL” in drawing clear lines and using U.S. leverage, and said that failure amounted, in his view, to complicity in the horrors in Gaza.
