Schools across Riyadh will shift to remote learning for one week, according to an email sent to parents on Sunday citing instructions from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education. The move follows Saturday’s deadly attack on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital.
Saudi civil aviation authorities said 12 people were killed and 309 injured in the airport attack. The school shift is the second time in less than a month that in-person classes have been suspended across Riyadh.
Schools in Riyadh also moved to remote learning for a week in late September, amid security concerns following Houthi threats, The National reported.
