Igor Ananskikh, first deputy chairman of Russia’s State Duma energy committee, said the committee had no information about an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine, casting doubt on Donald Trump’s announcement.
Trump said Sunday that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate energy ceasefire but did not provide details of its terms. Ananskikh said Trump often makes statements to keep oil prices down, calling them “verbal interventions,” and added that he did not know whether the announcement was accurate.
