Saudi stocks fall 1% after Riyadh airport attack kills 12 and wounds more than 300, with major shares also trading lower
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark stock index fell 1% on Sunday after an attack on Riyadh’s international airport killed at least 12 people and wounded more than 300, according to Reuters. The Saudi National Bank’s shares dropped 1%, while Saudi Aramco fell 0.6%.
The losses reflected investor concern about security risks following the attack, which Saudi authorities said struck King Khalid International Airport. The toll was reported by Saudi civil aviation authorities.
Saudi authorities extended the airport’s closure on Sunday, a day after the attack, as Houthi rebels threatened further airstrikes across the kingdom, the Associated Press reported.
