Araghchi tells Saudi foreign minister military action would deepen regional tensions and offers Iran’s help in arranging talks with the Houthis

Eastora News·

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in a phone call on Sunday that military action in place of diplomacy would further complicate the regional situation. He also offered Iran’s help in facilitating dialogue between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis to reach a political settlement.

The two ministers discussed escalating tensions and developments in the region. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry said they also addressed the latest regional escalation and efforts to deal with it.

Araghchi said regional crises cannot be resolved through military means and urged diplomatic solutions.

The call came amid an intensification of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. The Associated Press reported that a Saudi airport terminal was struck again on Sunday, a day after an attack killed 12 people.
