CEOs of ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Shell, Chevron and BP dropped from Riyadh energy congress agenda after deadly Houthi attacks
The chief executives of ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Shell, Chevron and BP no longer appeared on the updated agenda for the WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, Reuters reported, after deadly Houthi attacks on the Saudi capital. The executives had been expected at the event, which began Sunday, but were absent from the schedule released Monday.
Saudi authorities went ahead with the conference despite heightened security concerns. Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told attendees that their safety remained a priority, while cautioning that “our gathering here does not mean the risk is gone.”
The 25th WPC Energy Congress is scheduled to run in Riyadh from October 11 to 15, 2026.
