Iran’s IRGC Navy says a supertanker was struck in the Strait of Hormuz, the third vessel hit there in two days, after allegedly ignoring warnings

Eastora News·

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said a supertanker was struck in the Strait of Hormuz while trying to leave by a route it considered unauthorized. The force described it as the third vessel hit in the waterway in two days; the vessel was not identified in the statement carried by Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.

The IRGC Navy said the tanker had switched off its navigation system and ignored its warnings. It accused the vessel of seeking to disrupt security in the strait, saying it was struck as a result. The force’s account did not identify who or what struck the tanker.
