Eli Bin, director general of Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service, said a group of hikers appeared to have been injured when unexploded ordnance detonated in the Ramim area of the western Galilee, near the Lebanese border.
Bin said some of the injuries were serious and caused by explosive materials. Multiple emergency teams, including Magen David Adom helicopters, were sent to the scene.
The cause of the explosion had not been officially confirmed in reports published on October 12, 2026, and was under investigation.
