Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told delegates at the WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh that the kingdom considers recent events serious and will respond “equally seriously.” He said the gathering did not mean “the risk is gone.”
The minister also reassured delegates that Saudi Arabia was safe and that the kingdom was committed to protecting them, while acknowledging that security risks remained.
The congress is being held in Riyadh from October 11 to 15 as Saudi Arabia continues to host international energy meetings despite a deadly attack on the capital’s airport.
