‘Trump is really mad’: White House officials say Ukraine’s refinery strikes are eroding Zelensky’s standing with the U.S. more than hurting Russia

White House officials told Axios that Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil refineries are damaging President Volodymyr Zelensky’s relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump more than they are harming Russia.

The remarks came amid Trump’s push for an energy ceasefire that would initially stop Russian and Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries. Zelensky said the announcement of such a ceasefire was news to him, while Russia had not agreed to it, according to Axios.
