Zelenskyy says Ukraine can hold presidential elections after a 60-day ceasefire, but the Kremlin rejects a temporary truce and calls for lasting peace

Eastora News·

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is ready to hold presidential elections if Russia agrees to a complete ceasefire lasting 60 days. He has also said he is prepared to work with parliament on the legislative changes needed to organize a vote.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov rejected the proposed temporary ceasefire, saying Moscow wants lasting peace instead. He has separately said Russian President Vladimir Putin would be prepared to order a halt to strikes on Ukraine on election day itself.
