Ghalibaf says economic warfare is now Iran's main challenge, urges planning to shield livelihoods from sanctions

Eastora News·

Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tuesday that economic warfare is now more important for Iran than military, cyber or cognitive confrontation.

"Economic warfare is the main axis of the war against us," Ghalibaf said at a meeting with senior government and parliamentary economic officials.

He said Iran should plan for the coming six months and ensure that people's livelihoods and the welfare of the armed forces remain the top priorities in economic decision-making.

Ghalibaf said government decisions should ensure that household livelihoods are the last area affected by war and sanctions and the first to benefit from effective economic management.

The United States has intensified economic pressure on Iran in recent months through sanctions and restrictions aimed at limiting Tehran's oil exports and financial access.
