Greta Thunberg joins French students protesting school conditions as nationwide marches resume amid police-brutality allegations

Eastora News·

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg joined high school students protesting outside Paul Eluard High School in Saint-Denis on Tuesday, as unions and the France Unbowed opposition party backed fresh demonstrations in Paris and other cities. Thunberg told AFP that young people were being left out of the conversation and that “our future is being robbed away from us.” Lawyers in robes formed a human chain near the school to shield teenagers, amid numerous allegations of police brutality.

The movement began last month with protests over staffing shortages at a high school in Créteil, southeast of Paris, before spreading to other suburbs and cities across France.
