Kimberly Guilfoyle resigns as U.S. ambassador to Greece amid misconduct allegations, denies claims and vows to defend her reputation

Eastora News·

Kimberly Guilfoyle announced Tuesday that she was resigning as U.S. ambassador to Greece, rejecting allegations that she accepted lavish gifts while in the post and sought payments in exchange for arranging access to administration figures before her confirmation. The White House had indicated it asked her to step down. A source familiar with the inquiry told CNN on Monday that the State Department’s Office of Inspector General is investigating the matter.

In a post on X, Guilfoyle thanked President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. She vowed to vigorously defend her name, reputation and integrity, saying she would not let what she called false claims define her decades of public service. She also reaffirmed her commitment to Trump and the America First movement.

Before departing for Alaska, Trump told reporters he had not spoken with Guilfoyle about her departure. He said she was doing a good job, but that he did not like what he had read about her. Trump also noted that Guilfoyle had previously dated his son.
