Trump says he could be ‘last Republican president’ if Democrats win the White House and Congress, citing changes he says would boost their political power
President Donald Trump warned at a campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday that he could be the last Republican president if Democrats win the White House and control Congress. Mediaite reported that he linked the prediction to what he said would be Democratic efforts to add states and increase their representation in Congress and the Electoral College.
Trump said the changes would add about four senators, 10 members of the House and 12 electoral votes. He also accused Democrats of seeking to expand the Supreme Court, which currently has nine justices, and called for eliminating the Senate filibuster. He made the remarks while campaigning for Ohio Republican candidates Sen. Jon Husted and gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy.
