U.S. and Europe shape four-part Ukraine settlement proposal combining reconstruction and security guarantees with energy ties and a ceasefire on the current front line

Eastora News·

The United States and European countries are developing a joint proposal to settle the war in Ukraine, built around reconstruction, security guarantees, economic integration and a ceasefire along the existing front line, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius reported, citing a U.S. official familiar with the talks.

The proposal was discussed at a six-hour meeting in Florida on Friday, October 9, hosted by U.S. envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. Ukrainian officials and representatives of Britain, France and Germany attended. Ignatius reported that European leaders remained committed to the diplomatic process despite their anger over a U.S.-Russia diesel deal.
