U.S. envoys said Putin was not ready to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war and presented the Russian diesel deal as a possible incentive

Eastora News·

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner told Ukrainian officials that Russian President Vladimir Putin was not prepared to negotiate an end to the war, but said a diesel-export deal could help draw Moscow back to talks, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the discussions.

The agreement allows Russia to supply more than 2.25 million barrels of diesel to U.S. and global markets.
