Yemeni government forces say 1,200 Houthi fighters neutralized in 2,200 operations under Dawn of Yemen offensive
Yemeni government forces said Tuesday they had carried out 2,200 targeting operations against Houthi positions as part of the ongoing Dawn of Yemen offensive.
The military said the operations involved warplanes, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers and sniper units, targeting command centers, fortifications, firing positions, weapons depots, supply routes and other military sites.
Initial battlefield estimates indicated that around 1,200 Houthi fighters had been “neutralized,” while more than 440 military vehicles and pieces of equipment were destroyed or damaged, according to the military.
The government launched the Dawn of Yemen operation on October 5 with the stated aim of restoring state institutions and retaking the capital, Sanaa, from the Houthis.
