Zelensky says Ukraine halted strikes on Russian refineries and energy sites for two days after Trump's ceasefire call
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that Ukraine had not attacked Russian oil refineries or other energy infrastructure for two days following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of an energy ceasefire.
"Ukraine has not carried out strikes on Russian oil refineries or the energy sector in general for the two days since the American president announced an energy ceasefire," Zelensky said.
He accused Russia of failing to reciprocate, saying Moscow had continued attacking Ukrainian energy facilities during that period.
Trump announced on October 11 that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate "energy ceasefire." Zelensky initially said the announcement was news to Kyiv but said Ukraine was ready to observe such a ceasefire if Russia did the same.
