International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva warned Tuesday that attacks on Saudi Arabia could have economic consequences worldwide as rising energy costs add pressure to the global economy. She made the remarks at a news conference during the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, according to AFP.
Georgieva said the Saudi economy was important both regionally and internationally. She warned that recent developments could have “potentially negative spillovers for everybody, everywhere.”
