Medvedev mocks Ukraine over intelligence gaps, claims U.S. has cut off military intelligence
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, mocked Ukraine on Wednesday over recent gaps in U.S. intelligence support, claiming Washington had cut off military intelligence to Kyiv.
"The green louse is outraged at the U.S. cutting off military intel. Without it, it goes blind, panics, and runs around," Medvedev wrote on X, using an insult directed at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"What did it expect? If you're rude to your sponsors, they get angry. Trump isn't Scholz," Medvedev added, referring to former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Medvedev's claim that the United States has cut off military intelligence has not been confirmed by Washington. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. is still sharing intelligence with Ukraine, while Ukrainian officials have complained that they received no advance warning of recent Russian ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv.
The dispute comes as the Trump administration pressures Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure and as new restrictions on Starlink have disrupted some Ukrainian military operations.
