Trump says Black voters will reject Abdul El-Sayed, accusing Michigan Democrat of scorning and disrespecting them

Eastora News·

U.S. President Donald Trump said Black voters would not support Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, accusing him of scorning, mocking and disrespecting them.

“Why would black people vote for Mohammed El-Sayed when he openly scorns them, mocks them, and disrespects them? THEY WON’T!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to Abdul El-Sayed by a different first name.

The attack comes as El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers in a closely watched Michigan Senate race. Black voters are a critical Democratic constituency in the state, and recent polling and reporting have shown El-Sayed performing less strongly with them than Democrats traditionally do.

CNN reported this week that Republicans are actively trying to make gains among Black Michigan voters, while Democrats have brought prominent figures including Kamala Harris and Barack Obama into the state to campaign for El-Sayed.
