Trump’s post of fatal tiger-attack footage from Britain draws social-media backlash, followed by an AI video showing him befriending the tiger
US President Donald Trump posted a 41-second video on Truth Social on Tuesday showing a man being attacked by a tiger at a British wildlife park on Saturday. The White House’s “Rapid Response 47” account later shared the clip on X. Trump captioned his post, “Don’t ever mess with nature!” and followed it with apparently AI-generated images of people being mauled by big cats.
Users on X questioned Trump’s judgment. One called the post “sick,” while others voiced disapproval, including some of his supporters. Later on Tuesday, Trump posted an AI-generated video of himself wrestling with the tiger before befriending it as it smiled.
Police said the man entered the tiger’s enclosure, where the animal attacked him and caused serious injuries. The BBC identified him as William Chapman. He died at the scene despite efforts by medical personnel, including Yorkshire Ambulance Service units sent by road and air ambulance.
The incident took place at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster in northern Britain.
The park’s “Land of the Tigers” feature has a 300-meter raised walkway for visitors to view Amur tigers in an enclosure with woodland, grassland and a waterfall pool. An estimated 500 of the endangered subspecies remain in the wild.
