FBI says Kash Patel is in Virginia, denies report he traveled to Russia

Eastora News·

The FBI said Wednesday that Director Kash Patel was in Lynchburg, Virginia, and denied a media report that he had traveled to Russia for meetings with Russian security officials.

MS NOW had reported earlier that Patel had arrived in Russia for a two-day visit expected to include Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The FBI said Patel was instead attending a law enforcement appreciation event at Liberty University in Lynchburg. Video from an ABC News affiliate in Virginia also showed Patel at the event.

The bureau's statement directly contradicted the earlier report that Patel had traveled to Russia.
