Russia says Ukraine targeted Ryazan refinery as Zelenskyy declares energy ceasefire over and says strikes on Russian refineries will resume

Eastora News·

Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday that Ukraine attempted a large-scale attack on an oil refinery in Ryazan, about 180 kilometres south of Moscow. It said a fire broke out after drone debris fell onto the refinery site. The statement came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the Financial Times that strikes on Russian refineries would resume and that Kyiv was “done with an energy ceasefire.”

U.S. President Donald Trump had unilaterally announced an energy ceasefire over the weekend, without public confirmation. Ukraine said it suspended attacks on Russian energy sites for several days after the announcement, while Moscow continued striking Ukrainian infrastructure.
