Iraq says US-Israeli war on Iran has cost its economy $60 billion, with continued hostilities damaging exports and trade
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said the US war against Iran has caused $60 billion in losses to Iraq’s economy, according to the Foreign Ministry. The ministry warned that continued hostilities were causing significant economic damage.
The ministry said Iraq remains vulnerable to regional instability and disruptions to energy exports and trade. It also cautioned that the war has intensified pressure on global energy markets and heightened concerns about rising inflation. Iraq’s economic exposure reflects its reliance on oil revenues and its location in a region where energy infrastructure and shipping routes have been affected by the US-Israeli war against Iran.
