Santiago Caputo, chief adviser to Argentine President Javier Milei, said the UK was being “colonised by Islam,” citing the election of Somali-born Muslim MP Sagal Abdi-Wali, The Guardian reported.
Caputo argued Argentina must reclaim the Falkland Islands to prevent an “Islamic state” from gaining influence in the South Atlantic. He described the effort as a cause for the entire West.
Milei shared Caputo’s post on X amid escalating tensions with Britain over sovereignty of the islands.
