Pentagon officials plan to delay Minab school strike report until after November midterms; investigators cite flawed intelligence, outdated imagery and AI reliance

Eastora News·

Bloomberg reported that senior Pentagon officials intend to postpone publication of an internal investigation into the U.S. airstrike on Shajarah Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, southern Iran, until after the November midterm elections. The report has been nearly complete for months, but advisers to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth have communicated plans to delay its release.

The strike took place on the first day of the war and killed more than 150 people, including at least 123 children.

Investigators identified flawed intelligence, outdated satellite imagery and excessive reliance on artificial intelligence as contributing factors.
