Republican tax-cut message fails to resonate, with fewer than 1 in 10 citing cuts among Trump’s second-term successes
U.S.
A new Politico poll finds that Republican efforts to make tax cuts a focus of the midterms have not resonated with voters, despite the party’s hopes. Rebranding its sweeping domestic policy and tax package as the “Working Families Tax Cuts” has not helped the message break through to the public.
Fewer than one in 10 Americans name the tax cuts among the biggest successes of Donald Trump’s second term. With less than three weeks until Election Day, the poll indicates Republicans have fallen short of making this the tax-cut election they wanted.
